Meet Carl

Carl was born in Southern California but spent his childhood moving around the country. During many of those years a TI-99/4A was his primary companion, often pretending to be sick so he could stay home from school to debug his latest program.

Born with a deep desire to tinker and understand how and why things work, programming seemed to be a natural fit. Going from Logo to BASIC to HyperCard to C to Java to Assembly to PHP and then to PERL, Carl finally felt like he found the one language to rule them all when he discovered Ruby in 2005. He now spends as much time using Ruby as he is able. Much of his development work has been on internal websites for automating large volume file manipulation for local companies.

When not programming Carl can usually be found playing RPGs, board games, or paintball with friends. Recently, Arduino physical computing has been occupying more and more of his ever shrinking spare time.
