The Argon Trail
The unofficial hike of RailsConf 2013
Sunday, April 28th 2013
12:30 to 7pm
Meet at 12:30 PM, Oregon Convention Center
Portland is a gorgeous and unique place; one of the most appealing aspects of this city, at least for us, is how easy it is to escape it. It's a short drive to the ocean, high desert, powdery mountain, river, and, of course, the scenic hikes and vistas of the Columbia River Gorge. We're pleased to invite RailsConf 2013 attendees to leave their laptop for a few hours and join the Planet Argon team on a moderate-difficulty hike to one of the most spectacular views of the gorge, Angel's Rest. We'll take care of everything: transportation, snacks, waters, and maybe even a few surprise goodies—all totally free! Seating on the bus is limited to RailsConf attendees from out-of-town; Portlanders are more than welcome to meet us at the trailhead.
We're very proud of our lovely city and its surroundings, and we're thrilled to show off one of the most breathtaking spots in the area to our fellow Ruby on Rails developers from elsewhere. We know that many RailsConf attendees will be limited in their transportation options, which is why we're taking care of everything; all you need to do is register (as long as there are spots still available) and show up! This hike is taking place on Sunday, April 28th—the day before the conference begins. Make sure to arrive in town early enough to get yourself situated, eat a good brunch, and meet at the predetermined location no later than 12:45pm. We'll email hikers with a finalized meet-up address (don't worry—the spot will be close to RailsConf and easily accessible by public transportation) in the weeks leading up to the event.
Feel free to email us at events@planetargon.com with any questions.
